MANN LAKE UNASSEMBLED 6 5/8" COMMERCIAL GRADE MEDIUM SUPER
Our most popular grade. Tight, solid knots, small pitch pockets and small, tight cracks are acceptable for this grade. Imperfections that interfere with the structure and functionality of the box are not accepted. Black knots larger than a quarter dollar are not acceptable. Fingers and rabbet ears must be free of knots. Knots with cracks going all the way through, as long as the knot is solid are acceptable. Small Knots in the hand hold are acceptable, unless in the thin part of hand hold. Black edge knots or planer skips with 1/2 " (1.27 cm) thickness or less can me missing from the top or bottom of the board.
Use 6 1/4 " Frames and 5?" Foundation. Nails not included.
What size is right for me?
Did you know the only difference in measurements between 10 frame and 8 frame boxes is the width? 8 frame equipment is narrower than 10 frame, and not always compatible with other 8 frame equipment as dimensions vary slightly by manufacturers. 10 frame equipment offers more space for brood and honey production.

It's important to keep your colonies going in the winter if you want your bees to be able to stay alive. However, it's not easy to keep a colony running in the winter. It requires extra work from the beekeeper, but it's completely worth it in the end!
Introducing winter patties to your hive is a great way to help your bees survive the winter. Our Pro-Winter Feed is specially formulated to provide bees with the food they need to get through the cold months. Winter patties are a low-protein source of food that will help the hive sustain during the colder months.
Bees need carbohydrates to survive the winter, and our Pro-Winter Patties provides this. However, it's important to note that winter patties for bees only contain a very small amount of protein (around 4 percent). This is intentional as too much protein will encourage bees to start rearing brood too early, which isn't ideal given the colder weather. As the weather starts to warm up, you can switch to a pollen substitute patty such as Ultra Bee or Bee Pro(R) Patties. These patties will provide both carbohydrates and protein, which is perfect for when bees start brood-rearing again in the spring.

Nuc boxes make great swarm traps.
Place 5 9" (23.18 cm) frames of drawn comb in the box. Secure the lid with either the Poly or Rubber Nuc Strap (sold separately). Position the box in a tree or other location near your apiary. Use our 1 1/2 " (3.81 cm) cap plug (FD147, sold separately) to seal the entrance when you are ready to move the swarm.
Nucs are lightweight and easy to ship. There is no need for box returns and frame exchanges when cardboard nuc boxes are a fraction of the cost of wooden nucs.
Boxes are wax injected for greater durability and ship flat to save on shipping charges.
