BROMEGRASS is a perennial, cool-season grass with good palatability. A properly managed stand of smooth Bromegrass can yield high-quality hay, especially in conjunction with a legume such as alfalfa. This leafy and sod-forming grass spreads aggressively through both seeds and rhizomes. Because of its highly developed root system, Bromegrass is resistant to temperature extremes and drought. It should not be grazed or cut shorter than 4 inches and works best as part of a rotational grazing program. Shallow planting and a firm seedbed are required for a good crop stand. Seed in Feb 0 April and August 0 October at 15-25 lbs per acre with a depth of 0" to 0." A soil test is recommended for proper fertilization.
